the big 21!!!

 well hello there lovelies!

(can't take the type off bold...not sure why, oh well)

so i am absolutely obsessed with the fact that my birthday is so close i can't believe that this is the birthday that i have been waiting for! And no it isn't because I will be able to drink, I like to think that it is because I won't have to ask permission for really anything anymore. Everyone tells you when you are younger that 18 is the big one but last time I checked I was still asking my mom if I could go on trips or what have you, but now I don't (not that I had to after I got married any way but still...)

any who that was boring...wanna see my birthday list???

(just a little wish list, not at all what i expect by any means...but can't a girl dream a little)

well it's on the polyvore post below :) check it out!!!

enjoy!!!

Time until Wednesday, August 31, 2011 (Spartanburg time)

home made revamp

oh my goodness! I haven't posted in a while, but i have been in the swampy state of Louisiana...and unfortunately without a camera so far (J took it to Natchitoches with him on Sunday and I haven't seen it since so not very many pictures today!)

SO lets start from the beginning of this ca-razy trip!

friday-got off of work at 10...we were in the car by 11:30 on our way  to Louisiana (a 12 hour drive in the middle of the night...yeah that's about our speed)

saturday- made it to moms around 12 and poor J crashed the second we walked in the door, but by 5 we were up and getting ready for our night on the town with a bestie from NSU Lindsey! We had dinner at one of my favorite restaurants Sake Sushi! I even have a roll named after me there! It has salmon, tuna, cucumber, and avocado wrapped in seaweed and rice topped with spicy mustard! sooo yummy!
(not it but that's what it looked like)

we met up with J's parents and some of my best high school friends!

and then scooted on over to see the last installment of a series i am far to emotionally invested in (as i proved with my air punches, tears, and unreasonable remarks at the screen)
yes i know i am a giant nerd...and i am ok with it :)

we then ventured on over to where i spent countless hours "studying" for the ACT, "partying" after prom or homecoming (think of partying as a very loose term, i was one of like 3 girls in a huge group of guitar hero and gladiator obsessed guys...so it was more like relaxing) The Christie's attic...sounds magical right? haha I had so much fun looking back on all the times I had spent there, it was fun being able to take J so he could see what i had been talking about all this time!

sunday- the day of rest and honestly that's really all we did! well that and make home made veggie soup!!!!!
sadly the photos i have of it are not working but trust me it is amazing!

monday- wonderful froyo date with one of my oldest friends Katie and a bookstore visit!!!

tuesday-i got my dress for my 21st  birthday, but I'm not reveling that until the 31st!!!

well that brings us up to speed! I will edit with pictrures soon :)

love ya

garden party

my little sanctuary

I know I said the kitchen was up next but i haven't really finished it to the point that I love it...also there is a giant puzzle on my table so we haven't eaten on it in weeks :)

so my next favorite place is the patio! It is quaint and gets the best breeze ever!!!

( sneak  peak )

I have the most beautiful tree that I get to look at while relaxing on one of the ultra southern rocking chairs!

this is my tree from the living room window

A few weeks ago I decided it was time for some color out there and got some adorable flowers and herbs...unfortunately I can not keep plants alive but for the most part they are doing ok out there. I absolutely adore cooking with all my fresh herbs

**I like to pretend I'm her in the kitchen**

My favorite thing about my patio is at night I can hear the coyotes (we live at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains) every once in a while you can hear a wolf (so cool...especially since we are on the 3rd floor)
ALSO!!! I have twinkle lights wrapped around the rail.  I'm the only one who has these, so I don't think they are allowed...but until I get a letter I'm keeping them!

Such a perfect place for an appetizer  and champagne  before a dinner party! I feel like these plans will have to come to fruition soon! Party planning timeee!!!!!

waiting

Tonight I had the pleasure of waiting tables instead of hostessing at the restaurant. I didn't mind, in fact i had a good night until about 10:00 came around...

I understand being lost in conversation and not wanting to leave the company of your best friends but seriously if you have been at a table for over 3 hours (and only eating for 2 of then) please do you waiter the courtesy of moving your wonderful selves to the bar (that is what its made for) ok thank you!

::sorry this isn't the type of creative blog I like to write, I'll do it tomorrow...just wanted to get that little piece of advice out there::

good night lovely people

living room

Nothing frustrates me more than not being able to figure out a room! My poor husband and living room have gone through quite a few lets say rotations! After the wedding I purchased these really fun floating shelves and I absolutely love them, however if not placed in the right place they look like a bunch of clutter (and clutter runs a close 2nd to room puzzles). So the other day i decided that my couch belonged on the other side of the living room.

forgive the couch I have been indulging in a sick day and have been camped out with my pillow and blanket haha

i love my mismatch lamps they are so fun! and what you cant see from this picture but on the opposite wall there is a painting that involves all of these colors so don't worry i haven't lost my mind with color!

another love of mine in this room is my coffee table...it's really my grandmothers equestrian chest. the first picture does not do it justice as far as color and character. I can't believe it was kept in a barn and then a garage for so many years! here is a closer look:

next room THE KITCHEN!!!!!

happy decorating

pop the champagne!

well hello there! I am Elie, I am married to a wonderful man, enjoy artsy things and crafts, i thrive on the ocean (or just being outside in general) and one day I would like to  help my mom open her business (but more on that later) and I am going to school to be an art teacher.

I am so proud of my self I feel like going out on my front porch with a glass of champagne, unfortunately it is 6 a.m. and all i have is orange juice...I guess I will make due.

any who, thanks for reading  I hope you come back soon and bring your friends,

CHEERS!

Love
